There is no shortage of music and audio content on Reddit. In fact, it's quite the opposite: there's so much to work your way through that it can be tough to find the subreddits that actually cater to your particular tastes and interests.
We can't possibly detail ALL of the numerous subreddits dedicated to music and audio, so we're going to highlight some of our favorite audiophile and music lover subreddits.
Whether you're looking for new music recommendations, gear advice, or just a place to show off your new set of expensive headphones or speakers, there's a Reddit community for you.
1. r/audiophile
You might think that this subreddit is meant for audiophiles of all sorts, but that's not quite the case. Instead, it's mainly frequented by people putting together and showing off their home stereos or hi-fi systems.
If you're not sure which piece of gear you might need next, this could be a good subreddit to start with.
2. r/audiophilemusic
If you've already got an audio setup you're happy with and you're looking for some awesome music to test it out, this is the subreddit for you.
This subreddit is dedicated to music recorded, mixed, and mastered in especially high fidelity, so while you'll find some great tracks to flex your speakers, you might just find new music.
3. r/classicalmusic
Unlike many subreddits which tend to get hyper-specific, the r/classicalmusic subreddit is... well, for classical music. It doesn't matter whether you're a composer, musician, or simply enjoy listening to classical music—you're welcome here.
4. r/electronicmusic
Similar to the r/classicalmusic subreddit, r/electronicmusic is a place to discuss everything to do with electronic music.
You'll find people sharing their favorite tracks by various artists as well as their own tracks for others to listen to. You'll also find links to interesting reading related to electronic music.
5. r/headphones
If you were looking at the r/audiophile subreddit mentioned earlier and wondering where all the headphones posts were, this is your answer. This is where headphones enthusiasts hang out.
Whether you're not sure what headphones to buy, what DAC and amp to use with them, or what to listen to in order to burn them in, this needs to be one of the subreddits on your Reddit feed.
6. r/listentothis
Have a song you want to share with the world? Or do you have a particular musical itch you just haven't been able to scratch? Either way, this subreddit is for you.
Each post links directly to a music stream, making it super easy to browse and listen until you find something that speaks to you.
7. r/music
As you might have guessed from the name, this is the biggest music-related subreddit. You'll find a startling level of variety, from metal music to acapella renditions of classic rock songs.
You're almost guaranteed to NOT like everything you see here. But if you don't know what you want, there's no better place to start.
8. r/musicsuggestions
The name says it all. If you're looking for something new to listen to, the r/musicsuggestions subreddit is there for you.
Yes, you may still be able to find ideas for new music to listen to in some other subreddits, but this one is dedicated to music suggestions. Only music suggestions.
9. r/vinyl
Just as the r/audiophile subreddit is for hi-fi setups, and just as the r/headphones subreddit is for headphones, the r/vinyl subreddit for all things vinyl.
From turntable recommendations to building and caring for your vinyl collection, you'll find a wealth of information here.
More Ways to Find New Music
Some of the subreddits we've gathered focus on music discovery and recommendations, but not all of them. While recommendations from other people are great, they're not always ideal.
