The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is always growing. Disney already has plans for all kinds of films focused on beloved characters in the works, but there are quite a few hidden gems tucked away in Marvel comics that have either never had a film about them, or have been in terrible movies that didn't do the characters any justice.

Today, we're going to look at Marvel characters who have the perfect mix of character, power, and story to fit into the MCU. After all, if the relatively unknown Guardians of the Galaxy can blow up on the big screen, why can't these guys and gals?

1. Nova

Nova is a tremendously cool character who doesn't get enough love in the mainstream comic world. Who doesn't want to see a character who is a tough space cop doing awesome space cop things?

Of course, Disney and Marvel could elect to change things up in movie form, but in the comic books, Nova gets his powers from the Nova Force, and it grants him flight, superhuman strength, speed, durability, and the ability to absorb energy and blast it back at his adversaries in the form of pulses and beams. When he needs to slow things down, he is skilled in hand-to-hand fighting, which makes him perfect for an action movie.

2. Moon Knight

At first glance, you might look at Moon Knight and think he's Marvel's answer to DC's Batman. However, he's actually quite different from The Dark Knight, and he's an incredibly interesting character who has a story that would translate quite well from the panel to the big screen.

Part of that makes Moon Knight so interesting is that fact that his powers are directly tied to phases on the moon. He acquired his powers thanks to a visit from the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. The fuller the moon, the more powerful Moon Knight becomes. Couple that with his mental illness, and you have a fascinating plot that would make a great movie.

3. Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer certainly isn't new to the world of films, but Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer was not a great movie, nor did it fully represent how awesome and powerful the Silver Surfer is as a character.

The Herald of Galactus is an interesting enough personality to carry his own film as he deals with the guilt and struggle of his role in bringing down entire planets. We've already seen that space-based Marvel movies resonate with fans thanks to the rise of Guardians of the Galaxy, so it's a perfect time for Silver Surfer to come to MCU (assuming Disney can get the rights to the character).

4. Namor

With the popularity and success of DC's Aquaman, it's time for Marvel to play its underwater hand with Namor the Sub-Mariner. Namor first appeared in Marvel comics all the way back in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939. Yet, the water-based hero hasn't had his time in the spotlight on the silver screen.

Whether Namor should be the star of his own film or appear as part of the Invaders is open to interpretation. Either way, if Marvel's adaptations of outer space and the far reaches of Asgard are any indication, the company could do a fantastic job of creating an underwater world, and it might just be able to put DC to shame.

5. Daredevil

Daredevil is certainly no stranger to coming alive on a screen, as he was a pivotal character in Netflix's Defenders series of shows. However, Netflix has officially canceled all of them, so it's time to put The Man Without Fear where he truly belongs—on the big screen.

When it comes to character development and storyline, it doesn't get much more interesting than Daredevil. He has a love interest, a quirky best friend, a real-life job, and the ability to take his weakness (he's blind) and use it as an advantage. If that's not the recipe for an amazing film, I'm not quite sure what is.

6. Nick Fury

Is there a character more steeped in secrets and mysteries than Nick Fury? The estranged director of S.H.I.E.L.D has been missing in action from the most recent Marvel movies, and he's turned the reigns over to Agent Coulson on the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, but it's about time for him to make a comeback in a film of his own.

A movie about Nick Fury would be a perfect way for the MCU to fill in some of its more mysterious backstories, and it would give everyone a perfect reminder of why Samuel L. Jackson's rendition of the character is fantastic. Hopefully, it would make everyone forget about the trainwreck David Hasselhoff movie from 1998 (if anyone even remembers that it existed in the first place).

The Missing Marvel Link

Obviously, there's no shortage of fantastic Marvel movies already, and Disney is making seemingly infinite money from said films, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for more.

The characters above are perfect for the big screen, and it's time for Marvel fans who don't read the comics to experience them in all their glory.
